Chocolate Devils

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In large bowl, beat butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and almond extract until light and fluffy. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt; stir into the butter mixture until well blended.
  3. By hand (with a sturdy spoon), mix in the chocolate chips.
  4. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. The cookies are rich, so don't make them too huge.
  5. Bake for 11 - 12 minutes in the preheated oven, or just until set. Cool slightly on the cookie sheets (about 5 minutes) before transferring to wire racks to cool completely. If cooked just right, they should still be soft the next day.
